Push and Pull: WP Migrate Pro allows you to directly push and pull your databases, media files, themes, and plugins from one WordPress install to another.

Multisite Support: WP Migrate Pro supports multisite network migrations, which is not available in the free version of Duplicator.

Selective Migration: You can choose exactly what you want to migrate. For example, you can choose to only migrate the database, the media files, or the plugins.

Large Site Support: WP Migrate Pro works well with large sites and doesn’t have a problem with migrating sites with large amounts of data.

How to use

  1. Set up WP Migrate Pro on both sites

    Install and activate WP Migrate Pro on both the test version of the website and the new location.

    On both sites, go to Tools > WP Migrate > Settings and enter your licence key.

    On the new location, give permission for both pull and push.

  2. Migrate the site

    Section titled “Migrate the site”

    On the test version, go to Tools > WP Migrate > Migrate and select Push.

    Enter the Site URL & Secret Key of the new location. This can be found in Tools > WP Migrate > Settings

    Select all items you want to transfer. Most of the time this will be all items.

    Click ‘Migrate’ to start the migration process.

  3. Setting to production

    Section titled “Setting to production”

    Set the environment type to production.
